While 888Racing came up just short in the first at Geelong today with a closing second from Big Crunch the second race saw Stella De La Realm break through for Ribblesdale Stud.
With Jack Hill in the saddle for the stable once again the 5yo Fiorente mare jumped well and took a spot in third behind a fair speed.Horse and jockey got moving on the turn working up outside the leading duo where,as Dean had predicted,it took Stella De La Realm a furlong or so to hit her top to hold on from a chasing pack.
Being by Fiorente a mile and beyond should see the mare really hit her stride so a win at this stage of her preparation at 1400m can be seen as a bonus and a fair indication of Stella De La Realm’s talent and bright future.
With some nice stock coming through the stable is enjoying a good run of success of late a just reward for the team and owners.
