888 Racing finished the season on a high note with up and coming 3yo Equinova winning at Moonee Valley (Pic below) before a solid start to the new season with Sir Mask and For a Song running unlucky placing’s.

Looking to build on the recent run of good form Dean and the team will take five runners to Moe on Sunday hoping to notch up a couple of winners to kick start a big spring ahead.

3yo’s Russian Ruby (main pic) and Thunder Gun are both looking to break their maiden status, along with older horses Our Obsession and Miss Morgana who are both lightly raced but yet to breakthrough. The other runner is new stable acquisition Wingedeagles Glory, who joined the team late in the autumn after just two career starts that included a big maiden win on debut and a disappointing performance as favourite next start.

‘We looked at this meeting a few weeks ago as we are looking for wet tracks for these horses. All 5 are wet trackers and look to be well placed’ Said Dean from his Mornington base.

‘Russian Ruby was poleaxed first up at Geelong after trialling well leading in to that. However it looks like we’ve landed in the toughest race of the day. Hopefully she’s the superior wet tracker as it looks like being a Heavy 9 on Sunday’.

‘Wingedeagles Glory came to me to utilise the water walker and specialised training program I have and he has been very good in his 3 jump outs at home. He will need further than the 1100m but its a good starting point and the Heavy track suits’.

4 of the 5 runners have drawn well in their respective races with Wingedeagles Glory the only runner to be dealt a wide draw in 15.

‘Miss Morgana has drawn perfectly in gate 2 with the other three all well placed from middle draws’.

‘With a bit of luck in running I am expecting them all to run nice races. Hopefully we can notch up a few winners and gather some momentum heading in to the spring’.
