Equiano X Latino Goss
3 year old Bay Gelding
Sire: Equiano Dam: Latino Goss
Dean Binaisse was at the Inglis Vobis Gold Yearling Sale on Sunday on the search for a horse to take to the Inglis Banner two-year-old race on Cox Plate Day next season or the Vobis Gold race as well as to compete in the other rich Vobis races on offer to qualified horses.
888 Racing with young agency, Todd Blum Bloodstock, walked away with an attractive colt by Equiano and out of the Captain Rio mare, Latino Goss, for $15,000. The colt was purchased out of the Oakford Thoroughbred Farm draft.
"We are very happy to have bought this colt as he is a real two-year-old type out of a sprinting stallion and the mare was a winner at two as well," said Dean Binaisse.
"He is a really good sized yearling, good body and muscle and he is from a prolific two-year-old family which is similar to another horse we bought in the past in Carnero who also had Sir Tristram in his pedigree.
"We'll take him home now and put him through our breaking process and prep him as a two-year-old with our state of the art shin soreness program that will give him the best shot at a couple of very lucrative two-year-old races next season that he is eligible for."
Dean Binaisse has developed specific programs for horses that can prevent shin soreness in young horses as well as benefit older horses coming off injuries. The onsite water-walker and top class facilities are part of this program and the horses benefit from this greatly. Fab Fevola was an excellent product of this system as a multiple city winner and also ran fourth in a Group 1.
There are opportunities available to get involved in this exciting colt so please do not hesitate to contact Dean with any questions you may have or if you wish to get involved.
